Push to Pro...Coming May 2010

Warning: The following post must be read in a booming movie preview narrator voice.

Get Ready…

Do you want to make 2010 your year of writing success? Did you make a New Year’s resolution about your writing? Ready to take that next step in your career?

In May, Push to PRO begins. We’ll spend this month completing the first draft of our current work in progress. By May 31, every participant will have a completed novel. Those who aren’t yet PRO members will have everything they need to start querying and to apply for PRO membership.

Get Set…

Last year’s 60 Days to PRO effort was only the beginning. In 2010,we will go from general members with an idea and a dream to professional members with a manuscript and a plan. We will see success from our consistent submissions. We will end the year with an agent, an editor, a spot on a bestseller list. This year will be our year of success.

If you want to succeed, join us. On May 1, the PRO loop will open, and our plan will begin. Sprints in the water cooler. Inspiration. Sharing our Pearls. But May is merely a prelude. A warm-up. Preparation for what comes this fall.

If you thought 60 Days to PRO was great, just wait until you see 60 Days to Success.

Go.

Are there any requirements to join the Push to Pro? And how do we sign up?

60dTp was amazing. I can't wait for this! I was going to use may as my "finish my WIP" month to get a new project ready for nationals, so this will be great!

Hi LD -

We'll have more info. soon! We just wanted to alert everyone that in May we'll be pushing to get members to submit their work and their PRO application to National.

Then later in the year, for those who are already PRO members, we're going to do all we can to help you make the jump to published with pitch sessions and help with queries, etc.

So focus on your WIP and let's see if we can get it finished in May!!!

Go FF&P!!!

This sounds like the ideal plan. I signed up for BIAM have had zero luck writing these past two weks. I'm behind in all the workshops I decided were just the ticket I needed. I'm on several loops to push for finishing my wip.I actually have the rejction notice to allow me to go Pro. I just haven't filled out and submitted the paperwork. Life turned ugly these alst two weeks but hey todya is 15April and we through with tax season I hope.

Taxes are behind you... Now's the time to focus and finish that manuscript! :)

And if you've got the rejection, the paperwork for your PRO status is very simple. You can print it out off the National site and copy your book onto a CD. Send them in with a copy of the rejection and you're there!

Hey Lisa,

Can't wait to join in! It'll be a push since I only have 43K written, but I'm up for the challenge. I'm a newbee to the RWA as well as the FF&P. How do I join in the loop as well as in the Water Cooler sprints?

Marianne, if you're a member of FF&P already, all you have to do is log in to the website's members only section. Click on the Events link at the top and scroll to May. Push to PRO is listed under that month. You can register to join there!

I'm about to publish more info to the FF&P list, too.
